Walking on the Water!

One more thing...I have to tell you guys what Wes said the other night! Travis was giving him a bath and they were just chatting like they always do when Wes suddenly stood up and placed his foot above the water and gently tried to "step" on the water. Travis asked him what he was doing and this was his reply..." Daddy, my Bible story said that Jesus walked on top of the water. Well, you always tell me that I need to act like Jesus...I'm trying but it's not working!" It was so funny! Travis had to explain what WE actually meant by that and why he couldn't actually walk on the water in the tub! He was pretty disappointed but understood! It is so funny how kids take everything SO literally! Wes is a cool little guy, if i do say so myself!

On the Lake!

Today we took Bo King and her family to Quartz Lake for the day! We had so much fun! Her parents are here for the summer and they are absolutely wonderful! They are full Korean and don't speak much English, so Travis and I were able to practice our Hangul! We had fun trying to remember everything we learned from Korea. Wow, how we miss Korea! We love everything about that place! The people, the culture, the language, the traditions...today brought back so many memories! Travis speaks Hangul much better than i do...but i learned a lot today and had fun trying new words! Bo's mom packed the food and OH MY GOODNESS! It was so delicious! We rented a boat and took everyone out on the water to fish! We didn't catch anything but it was a beautiful afternoon and we all had fun trying! Especially Wes and Noah! They thought they were something else with their fishing poles just like Daddy and Grandpa! We did see an eagle soaring over us which was so majestic...and a bull moose walked down to the water to get a drink! We were pretty close and were able to watch him for a while. It was so peaceful! It rained towards the end but we still grilled out in the rain and made a lifetime memory today! Here are a few pictures...i didn't get any on the water b/c i didn't have my camera...but still...here are a few i did take! Enjoy!

VBS!

This past week we enjoyed a SUPER FUN week of vacation Bible School! I taught Wesley's class, the pre-k class and had a blast! I was a bit worried at the beginning but when Friday finally arrived, my heart was sad it was all over with! I had a total of 15 kids, 10 of which were very hyper active, full of energy little boys! But much to my delight, they were so wonderful, eager to learn about Jesus, and truly made my week one to remember! I loved teaching and Wesley had so much fun! I have to say that our VBS is the best one EVER! We put a ton of preparation into this week and lots and lots of prayer! Bobbi, our director, hands down is fabulous! I think we had 7-8 decisions for Jesus! Praise God!

Anyway, just thought you guys would want to join me in praising Jesus for this past week! Love you all!

Haniniah is Wesley's bestest friend in the whole world...so they have really enjoyed spending time together! I praise the Lord for such sweet and precious friends!

A trip down the river...

On Sunday evening Travis took the kids and I down the Chena river in our canoe! Being father's day he thought we should all experience this trip together! I was a little apprehensive with Emmy in the boat but decided to take the plunge and give it a try! At first all was well. The kids were loving being on the water...the sun was shining...we basically had the whole rive to ourselves...it was one of the most relaxing evenings I had experienced in a long while...UNTIL...traffic picked up! Here we were in our little canoe and all of a sudden much bigger boats were flying around the corners...and creating waves much bigger than our little canoe wanted to see! Travis was able to keep our canoe from tipping over (much to my appreciation) but as Emmy and I sat in the front of the boat, one HUGE wave came over the top of the boat and SOAKED Emmy Grace! Up until this point...she was having a blast...she loves the water and was so content in her little life jacket...until the moment! At this point...she encountered her greatest fear in all her little life. She started SCREAMING! Granted, the water was VERY cold...and there was no where for her to go to get away...so she cried and cried and cried all the way down the river until we took out and got home! She even cried all the way home in the car! It was so sad...I felt so bad for her...poor Wes too...he just wanted her to be happy so he was singing her EVERY song he could think of to make her happy! To no avail though...even though it ended kindof rough, it was one of the most fun days I've ever spent with my family!

A Birthday Party;...

We celebrated mom's 52nd birthday the other day. It was so much fuN! I actually surprised her with a party at the Pump House! She was so beautiful...I'm so thankful for her. And I am so thankful for all the ladies that helped make her day special! YEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just like Mommy!

Emmy Grace is OBSESSED with shoes! It doesn't matter whose shoes they are...she wears them all! She got a hold of my heels the other day...and the sad part is...she walks better in heels than i do!!!! She was so cute...she marched around the house saying "i pitty i pitty!" This little girl is such a hoot!

A Glorious Day!

Okay, so this time...no pictures. I just had so much running through my head and so much to praise God for...that I decided to just write tonight. I truly stand amazed at this Amazing God that we serve! He is the creator of the universe...the one and only TRUE God...He makes the planets spin in motion...He turns the caterpillar into a butterfly...He counts the hairs on my head...and still, He takes the time to PROVE His faithfulness to me over and over again! He doesn't have too...He is God and that should be enough. We should all fall down at His feet in total submission b/c He IS GOD...but yet, He loves us so much and in that love HE proves Himself to each of us in our own language. He answers prayer...from the tiniest breath to the anguished cries...He hears and responds to US! Doesn't that just blow your mind! When i think about it...I can barely wrap my mind around the idea that Jesus would go to such lengths to prove Himself to me. He already died in my place...gave Himself as the greatest sacrifice in all the world...and still He daily lets me see Him in His glory...HE still reaches down from Heaven and touches my soul...He still wraps His arms around my rebellious heart and draws me back unto Himself! WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Lord! Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
