Another Fishing Trip:)

Last night my mom and dad watched Wes and Emmy Grace while Travis and I got away for an overnight fishing trip! IT was so relaxing to just sit by the river and fish and read and be alone with the Lord! We drove down last night about 5 and got there at 9. We fished till we couldn't see anymore and then slept till the sun came up in our car. Then we fished again until we left. It was a VERY quick trip...but it was a VERY good one! Thanks mom and dad for babysitting so we could get away! We love yoU!

Fun with Friends!

These past few days the kids and I have been in Anchorage with our friends the Cordes! We had so much fun! Deb and the girls had a doctor's appointment and wanted company! So the kids and I went along~! It was a fast trip but surprisingly very relaxed even though we were down in back in less than 36 hours and we were toting 4 kiddos! But the kids were great and Deb and I had fun just hanging out and having girl time! She found this AWESOME R.V. So we helped her bring it back to Fairbanks. Here are a few pics of the kids!

A Whirlwind!

I am sorry that I haven't blogged for a few days. I feel like our lives are a whirlwind of activity this summer...but that statement is said happily I promise! The summers here are so short and so we have learned that we need to pack as much as possible into the few months we have of sunshine and beautiful days! The past couple of weeks have been spent camping, going to Anchorage with Travis for work (but we play as hard as he works while we are there:) and entertaining great grandparents! We have had so much fun! And this week me and the kids are heading back to Anchorage with a friend and her kids to help her find a R.V. Then we are going camping again this weekend, and we will be back just in time to head out again for Idaho to spend some time with Travis' family! WOW! Did I get all that in there? We decided to spend our summer going and doing and then this winter we will rest! The days are still quite long, and it is amazing at how much you can do between the hours of 7am-12am. Sometimes I wish i could just freeze summers and live like this for always! But as wonderful as that might sound, there are good thing to say about winter as well! We just won't talk about that yet:):)

Anyway, I will try and put up some pictures this week. I love you guys and can't wait to see some of you soon!

Pioneer Park

Today we spent the day out and about! We took Mamaw and Grandpa Pete to Pioneer Park and to the Knotty Shop! Then Mamaw taught me how to make Kraut Burgers. They are SOOOO delicious! Oh my! Emmy Grace was hilarious today. The whole day all that child said was "Hi Mamaw, Hi Mamaw, Hi Mama, Hi Mamaw!" OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!! And every time she wanted Mamaw to respond "Hi Emily!" She would giggle like it was the greatest game in all the world!

This morning before we left for the day Wesley climbed up in Grandpa's lap and said he needed to tell him something. Grandpa gave an undivided listening ear as Wes informed him..."Grandpa, sometimes I just don't understand Mommy." Grandpa said as soon as he figures out women, to let him know! It was so funny!

Emmy's EARLY Birthday!

Today Mamaw let Emmy open her birthday present early! Emmy LOVED unwrapping the gift! She gently tore each strip of paper off the box! But the look on her face when she uncovered what was inside was priceless! A brand new kitty purse!!!! She carried that purse around all night long! She didn't even notice the cute little outfits or the book, the purse won the day!

We spent the day hanging out at the house and enjoying grandparents! Wesley is having a blast with Grandpa Pete here! Pete gives that kid his undivided attention and enjoys the toys as much as Wes, or so it seems:):) We've enjoyed Mamaws delicious recipes! It has been a blessed day!

Thankful for My Ears!

How many of us stop and thank God for our different body parts and how they function! Yesterday we were stopped for lunch in Denalli Park and Wes just randomly wanted to thank Jeus for his ears. I told him that is a great idea, but what made him think of that specific thing to be thankful for. This was his response: "Well, I was thinking Mommy, I like ears b/c they let us hear stuff. And we need our ears so daddy can hear the bad animal noises in the woods and shoot them dead!" He had a puzzeled look on his face as he was explaining and then asked me, "Mommy, don't you know that?" Well, that does make perfect sense, I just had never stopped to think about it like that! Thank you God for our ears!~

I am also thankful for 4 year old little boys who bring what is truly important back into focus! God shows Himself strong to me each and everyday through Wesley Anderson!

Time with Great Grandparents:)

We are in Anchorage right now and Mamaw and Grandpa Pete are here with us. IT has been such a blessing today to hang out with them and watch the kids interact with them as well. Wesley fell in love instantly...when he went to give Grandpa Pete a hug, he ran back to our room and said..."Mommy, Grandpa Pete really likes me, He gave me 2 big hugs!" It melted my heart. He hasn't left their side all day! Emmy Grace has taken a little bit longer to warm up but everytime she looks at Mamaw, she can't help but smile! Travis played twice today, once in the park downtown and then he had a ceremony on base! He was even reconigzed by the General for his outstanding job leading the band today...wow right? I thought that was cool, although if you ask him he would just shrug it off...

I love you guys and really enjoy blogging. I don't know how many of you actually read these crazy entries...but it is fun to write anyway!

Camping Trip Cont....

Here are some more pictures! Wes actually built this fire and believe it or not, he was the one to TEACH HIS MOTHER how to build a fire! Talk about humbling! My four year old TAUGHT ME HOW TO BUILD A FIRE! I choose to look at it as "WOW, what a smart little boy I have!" not..."What a complete idiot I am!".

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone had fun celebrating our freedom this past weekend! WE DID! Although, we vowed to NEVER go camping on the 4th again! There were SOOOO many people out and about! Travis actually worked on the 4th so we headed out that night to Copper Center Alaska to camp and fish! Saturday was extremely crazy but Sunday and Monday calmed down and we truly enjoyed the great outdoors!

So, Friday night we didn't get away until 5pm and we had about a 5 hour drive ahead of us. When we reached our destination, not a camp site was available being the 4th, so we had to drive somewhat of a distance away to find a site! By the time we found a spot, set up the tent, got settled in our sleeping bags, it was almost 3am! But thanks to the beautiful Alaskan summers, we weren't short on daylight:) Saturday we decided to venture back to the Klutina river and pray for someone to pack up early and head home. We packed up camp, loaded up the car, and drove about 5 miles until we realized we had a flat tire!!!!!!! So, here we are on the side of the road changing our flat. Good Note: Blair learned how to change a flat tire! It actually turned out to be fun! So, Saturday we did find a new camp site right next to the river! We fished for a couple of days and headed back home Monday! We had such a good time!
